A seasoned professional in retail meat marketing and state-of-the-art processing, Doug has built his career in the North American meat industry over the last 25 years. His career, prior to Vantage, progressed from Plant Manager, Maple Leaf Foods to General Manager at Safeway’s Lucerne Foods Meat Plant, then Director, Meat Merchandising, Canada Safeway, followed by Director of Product Development, Safeway US. Doug has built a comprehensive portfolio integrating plant operations, processing technology, category management, sales, marketing and merchandising, and case-ready expertise.

With a keen eye for detail, an in-depth understanding of the meat business and a solid appreciation for the art and science of retail meats, Doug brings hands-on experience to the Vantage Team with Executive responsibility for the Chilliwack Service Centre, corporate business development, and supply chain management.

An advocate of new technology, a champion for quality, integrity, and food safety, and a team player with the inside track of the needs of discerning retail customers, Doug is a core member of the Vantage Foods case-ready answer team.

Doug is a Business Administration graduate from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario.
